Permanent Move to Honduras!

August 14, 2014

After three years of working from the U.S. in volunteer service to Honduras, Sara Burkes is finally making a permanent move.  Piled high with an umbrella, motorcycle jacket and helmet, 40 lbs of donated books, a computer bag, and –of course– a backpack of clothes and 12.5 lbs of cheddar cheese. Only an expert gets all that through security as “carry-on.”

She will be working at Marcala Bilingual School in a combined class of 5th and 6th grade.  This is her second time teaching in Honduras, as previously she volunteered in a rural school with a 1st-3rd grade class.
