Why is Andy all about books for Honduras?
Over the last seven years I have devoted my time and energy to working with students and families in high-poverty schools in the Denver area. It is an understatement to say that my perspective on education has evolved through these experiences and catalyzed a desire to simply give more to a community than I take away from it. There is an inevitable spark that arises from witnessing perseverance from kids and families that face dire obstacles in their everyday life. It has fostered a profound appreciation for the resources and amazing system of support I had growing up, and I would be remiss if I did not assist others that have not been afforded that same luxury.
I have picked up extra side work to cover the primary expenses of this mission trip to Tegucigalpa, Honduras and will be a part of implementing a new library for children over my current school’s spring break. At this time I am reaching out to friends, family, and strangers to help fund the construction of a library, books, teacher training, and other resources that can be a launching point of sustainable change. 100% of monetary donations will go towards the resources mentioned above, and any contribution or sharing of this web-page would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for considering!
