2024 Community Meetings
We recently held 2 Community Meetings, and we’d like to share them with you. Click the video above to watch our Community Meeting so you don’t miss a thing!
These meetings were a chance for us to thank, in person, those who contributed to our School Supply Campaign and the Packing Party we held. We then got into the nitty-gritty of this 2024 school year, describing the different libraries we installed in 6 schools and the 24 reading corners that were part of a special project. Sara, our Executive Director, spoke about some of our new programs this year, including a Pilot Training Program with Child Aid to provide our teachers with more robust training in literacy techniques and engagement, and our Reignite program, which is a new way for us to reconnect with schools we’ve worked with previously to assess and support the sustainability of their libraries. Maiko, the President of our Board of Directors, shared the highlights from our first-ever three-year Strategic Plan, which includes some of the big goals we have for 2025. And finally, we went over the 3 Volunteer Trips we’re offering this year (spoiler Alert - we’re going to Copan Ruinas, one of the most beautiful and historical places in Honduras)!
We are grateful to all of the Chispa community members who attended, some of whom were ex-volunteers and some who heard about us from various sources and wanted to learn more. As a final talking point for our meeting, we asked everyone who attended to be sure to Like and Follow us on Social Media to help us spread the word about the work we do - so, please follow the QR codes below to connect with us on Facebook and Instagram!
